I have a few weddings to go to this summer. I made it a point to find unique dresses to wear. I have been so tired of the usual designers and styles in cocktail and black tie style dresses. While on the hunt I came across the most darling lace dresses on Etsy. This site itself is starting to become a go to for me, when looking for fabulous items. It is the perfect way to support new smaller designers like Carousel Fashion. The lace styles are just stunning. The white styles are the most divine for a bride to be.

I have always had a strong desire to give back. A memory I have from growing up is at Christmas time when my parents watch us open all of our gifts. When we finished and my sister and I were excited to play, they stopped us for a moment and said pick your favorite. We quickly found what we loved most, mine a Barbie doll of course. Then told us, "ok now we are going to donate this to another little girl so she will have a gift too." As kids a slight disappointment came over us, but then a realization of how happy someone else would be, that made us smile. This moment and many others continued to have a huge influenced on my life.
I am excited to announce I have been selected to become a Global Giving ambassador which gives me a similar feeling of joy. I love that there are so many option to donate from local opportunities like providing low income kids with new technology to donating to helping women in India improve their small business. I am inspired every day to live generously through simple acts of kindness, donating clothing to a local shelter, and globally by build schools. I am over joyed to spread knowledge about Global Giving and my wish is it will inspire you too. How do you live generously, I'd love to hear your stories.

I would rarely team up a pair of black booties and a summer dress, just not a style I usually do. Yet, while at Cole Haan, Time Warner Center this week I saw a fabulous pair and tried them on more to see how they would look come Fall. I happen to have on my peach little dress for the day, when I looked in the mirror at the shoes, I was overall loving the outfit. You can see the full look here. Sometimes you really do have to step outside your own little fashion box to find a fabulous new look.

So your going to the Kentucky Derby, now what to wear. I'll take any reason, even going to the horse races to dress up. There are a few tips I live by to get fancy right. Here are my top 13 to get you to the Derby with class and style.
A fabulous hat is always a must at the Kentucky Derby, from elegant to over the top. Try a bold red colored hat with a wide brim to show your flair.
A hat is know for good luck, sweeten up a little red dress with an embellished sun hat.
Think like Princess Kate try a fascinator with a feminine lace dress.
For an event like the Derby a dress is almost as essential as the hat. This season is all about midi lengths, which is a perfectly flattering style.
If you do happen to keep the hat neutral, add a little flavor with a floral print dress, or pastel gingham.
We really can't forget about the shoes, stash the platforms and go for the lady-like pointy toe and skinny high heel. Maybe even a red sole if you dare.
Jewels are the finishing touch, since the hat is the center piece keep it simple. Try studs that sparkle, a stunning emerald cocktail ring or a delicate set of bracelets.
Pearls are a classic accessory think southern belle and wear them with a minty green top and matching skirt for a monochromatic look.
Here is an insider secret for your handbag, stash a sleek clutch inside an oversized bag. Use the clutch while mingling and having a cocktail or two.
Sunglasses are dramatic and key for a day at the races, go for the glamour in an oversized style.
Think a little fancy and try a pair of short white gloves.
Scarves are multi purpose for a long day from keeping shoulders warm to accessorizing a handbag, add one on.
Don't forget beauty, a red lip and freshly polished red nails always look luxurious.
